    Invitation to MAPnificient at BRAC

    Hello Everyone 

    I hope that you can join us to experience MAPnificent, a group exhibition curated by Yulia Tikhonovaopening at The Bronx River Art Center, BRAC, Friday 11/22 6-9pm
    in addition on
    • Wednesday December 4th, 6-8pm I will begin part one of my participatory performance/installation, gathering stories for "Knitting...I Need You",  coinciding with Bronx Culture Trolley Night.              
    • Friday December 20th, 6-9pm  The Performance of "Knitting...I Need You", presented as part of BRAC celebration of MAPnificent's closing with an End-of-Year Party that includes around the globe spinning by Bronx DJ Lightbolt 
    • You might see me in the neighborhood between opening night and closing night as I will conduct informal knitting lesson and story telling at the gallery, in the neighborhood as well as the nearby Public Library.

    What's my worth?

    I am delighted to be part of Valerie Kuehne curated 3 Acts Performances at L'Ange Noir in Bushwick.
    "Each week will feature one sound artist, one performance artist, and one songwriter, working within their respective communities to push the boundaries defined by their “genre” and therefore potentially creating something new entirely. I can only hope that this will lead to some FASCINATING future collaborations."

    Knitting...I need you

    Knitting Lessons & Performnce 

    Saturday, October 12, 10am-6pm,  FREE
    As part of Open House New York weekend, OSH is hosting the second annual Kings County Fiber Festival. Katz will be present at the festival to teach basic knitting techniques and collect stories about experiences of walking in the city. Throughout the day she will retell the stories given by participants via short, seemingly impromptu, performances, while the knitted elements are unraveled.

    In TRANSITion addresses critical issues relating to public transportation in Brooklyn and beyond.  Participating artists are tackling issues like transit fare hikes, traffic congestion, the presence of “transportation deserts” in underserved neighborhoods, and the adaptation of transit to a city of rising sea levels.

    El Paper, De_Tour

    Hello everyone 
    I am please to have my work, a photograph titled "Rendez Vous"  included in this group show.

    eL Paper Magazine is pleased to invite you to its special activities during The DE-Tour show at Open Source Gallery, Brooklyn.

    Following the concept of drifting, as proposed by Situationist thinker and writer Guy Debord, (e)L Paper Magazine invited artists, writers, architects, and photographers to undertake their own detours (alone, or in groups of two or three), leaving behind routines and daily obligations. Remnants of this experiences have been displayed in the magazine and will be shown in the exhibition.

    Saturday, August 17th

    4,30 PM. The De-Tour Sketch Walk. Led by, Richard Alomar, Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture at Rutgers University, this walk invites the participant to become a De Tourist while exploring South Slope, Brooklyn. The objective, using Situationist methodology, is to walk and wander. We will explore and document this section of Brooklyn with words, sketches, photos and found objects.     2 to 7PM, bookbinding workshop. We will be doing books all the evening

    3:30 to 5:00 PM Workshop: How to Do an I-Ching Reading 
    We welcome you to join us for a glimpse into the journey of how to use this text for guidance through life’s detours, contours and every other kind of tour. The workshop will cover: basic background, trigrams, hexagrams, generating your question, how to “throw” the I-Ching, and doing actual readings. 
    The teachers, Priscilla Stadler, Artist, and Gary Richmond, Philosopher, use the I-Ching as a tool for creative investigation. For more info contact priscillastudio@gmail.com .
