Hangers 101 & A Litany of Hashtagsa participatory project that creates dialogues on the current political/social climate initiated on the current administration's first day. Inspired in part by the day's news, I created sculptural elements from hangers and other material. I invited participants to pose with or add to the sculptures while answering the question, "How do you feel about what's happening around us and in the world? These responses are turned into hashtags, such as #climatechange, #womensrighttochoose, or #peace, and are shared via Instagram  (@mcayer27). #gatheringevidance.

Phase two of Hangers 101, presented as a Litany of Hashtags, actions created from a selection of participants commentaries. This ongoing project is currently offered in a modified version with respect to social distancing.

This project took place in my studio, on the streets and at the Glasshouse in Brooklyn, the Bergen Art Festival in Norway, the New York Studio School exhibition, in Back to the Future at Local Project LIC, and during The Artist Parade with AIOP, currently on view at Plaxall Gallery LIC.

Thank you for your continuous support.

    Best wishes

    Marie Christine
